Cyclist may be interested that route 65 of the National Cycle Network passes through Coxwold.
We have had several cycling campers stay, who where on a route originating in Europe using ferries at Newcastle and Hull.

YO61 4BBIf you use a Sat Nav our post code will probably take you to Coxwold village garage. If so just leave the village on this road and you will find us after one mile, on the right hand side.
Directions
If you are coming on the A1 (North or South) take the A168 towards Thirsk. leave this at the Thirsk/A19/ York signed exit taking directions for York. You will by now have seen very large "Caravan Route" signs, this is to avoid the very steep Sutton Bank on which caravans are prohibited. These signs will show you where to turn left towards Coxwold about 4 miles after leaving the Thirsk junction. When you reach the village of Coxwold turn left, at the only crossroad in the village, towards Wass, Ampleforth (still on the caravan route). You will find Brenk House Farm exactly one mile after leaving the village, we are on the right hand side.
If you are coming from the York area keep on A19 until you can pick up signs for Husthwaite/Coxwold. Once in village of Coxwold take signs for Wass, Ampleforth as above.
From East Coast use A170 and again follow "Caravan Route" after coming through Helmsley. We are about a mile on the left after passing Byland Abbey.
